Such a hectic day! Typical show days can be pretty crazy, but add a video shoot to the mix and it turns in to a very busy day! But it was awesome! We've been promoting the fact that Keith would be filming a video for his next single, "Only You Can Love Me This Way", at the Des Moines show and the day finally arrived.
Keith started shooting the close-up parts of the video around 3:00pm and wrapped it up around 5:00pm. Keith sat on the B stage in the arena and we had the song playing on the arenas loud PA system. Keith was having a great time filming the video. Some pics of the shoot are below...check out the site soon for more!
After the video shoot, Keith did a quick sound check. I then headed over for a quick dinner at the Quality Inn restaurant. I had some friends drive in from Missouri for the show so I met up with them for dinner.
Taylor Swift opened the show. I've said it before and I'll say it again...she sure does know how to work a crowd. I think it's amazing. I wonder if she has followed Reba's career much. In my opinion, I can see Taylor following in Reba's footsteps in regards to her theatrical stage presence.
Keith hit the stage right on time and the sold-out crowd blew the roof off the place! Side note...I loved the Wells Fargo Arena...it was so clean and nice. When Keith hit the B stage, the crowd went wild and the producers of the video shoot let fans come down to get a huge crowd around the stage. Keith performed "Only You Can Love Me This Way" twice while the cameras rolled. The crew took tons of crowd shots. I can't wait to see the final video! A funny moment was when Debra, Keith's hair/make-up stylist, got up on the stage and was fixing his hair and getting him ready before they started filming. Keith said "this is so embarrassing!" It was pretty funny. All in all, the entire show was incredible.
We are now in Moline, IL getting ready for show three. More to come! Hope you are all having a great weekend.
Luke
P.S. I almost forgot, another memorial part of the day was that our buses had to be parked far away from the backstage so we had to ride back and forth on golf carts. The last picture shows a few of the crew folks sitting on a bench under some signs that we made...they say "Bus Stop" and "Looserville"...it was pretty humorous. Ok...that's it...talk soon!
